Tea of The Month: Fruit and Blossom Rooibos

September's Tea of the Month is a personal favourite of mine and one that I don't think gets enough praise. Luxury Rooibos combined with a medley of fruit and herbs creates a tea that's full of floral character and wonderfully mellow. The light perfume of fresh Lavender mingles with the sweet Rooibos and fruits to provide lingering moments of pleasure with every cup.

This caffeine free tea is a must to try, it will help you to detox and feel relaxed and well rested.

It has been described as bringing contentment and inspiration, so all of you who are in need of being inspired and feeling content, why not taste this beautiful blend.Perfect to enjoy whilst relaxing in our elegant Tearooms, pair it with our carrot cake for an extra treat!

Y is for YOU!

Who? You. Irrespective of your title age, gender, status or anything else, to us you are ‘Distinguished Guests’. Over the next few months in particular you’ll see us rolling out some new initiatives to honour you in our unique ‘Beatons Way’.

That means every one has to add to you having a restorative experience, enjoying generous value and, of course, being on the receiving end of our gracious hospitality.

What’s new for September?

For Distinguished Guests -- Recognising Patronage Properly!

Our old loyalty cards are being replaced by beautiful ‘Distinguished Guest Cards’ so you feel special no matter how many ‘stamps’ you have on them. We also want them to represent real ‘treasure in your wallet’. And they do and here’s why. Because once they’re filled, you’ll receive an invitation to introduce a friend to Beatons for a Complimentary Patron’s Cream Tea for two on us. To take advantage of this – you’re still welcome to have a free drink instead if you prefer – we’ll present you with a pretty invitation card to give to a friend. When you come in with him or her, hand in your card and we’ll treat you both to our Patron’s Cream Tea.

For Distinguished Book-Lovers

We believe books are worthy of their value which is why we don’t normally discount. However, we wanted to find a way to thank all our loyal book-lovers who support buying books offline from the high street. Our stylish new loyalty bookmarks which you’ll find at the till mean you get a huge 30% off your seventh book purchase as well as know what page you’re up to!

As newly appointed Book Ambassador for Beatons I’m looking forward to sharing some great ‘Book of the Month’ titles and we’ll also be flagging up our Past Books of the Months in case you missed them, with some snazzy new book categories to make buying easier and more fun.

In this fast-paced world which constantly makes demands on our time, it’s easy to put yourself second. I know when I do, I often end up giving second-best.  When I’ve given myself enough time, and feel well nourished its much easier to give of my best.

What one small thing might you give to yourself on a regular basis which would make you feel ‘on top of the world’? For me, it’s a cup of the finest coffee every morning – and as often as possible from ‘You Can Guess Where’!

Liz Darcy Jones - Beatons Book Ambassador

P.S. There is another little initiative you might occasionally be positively surprised to discover. However, if I divulge it you won’t be surprised and that would deprive you of all the pleasure!

VW Campervan Charms Tisbury Children

Author Rachel Jane and VW at Beatons Tearooms Tisbury
Monday 20th August saw a packed Beatons Tearooms and Bookshop Tisbury welcoming a very special VW Campervan to the tearooms! The free storytelling session - part of Beatons ‘Boredom Busting August’ - had adults as well as a children wanting to set off on adventures in a campervan which comes to life as 'Milo' in debut writer Rachel Jane’s first book - ‘Milo Goes to the Seaside’. Rachel arrived in the real life 'Milo'!

Children enjoyed ice creams and adults sipped on more sophisticated sparkling kombucha or iced tea listening to the charming rhyme. They were then invited to inspect Milo (encouraging them back out again proving quite challenging!) Although written for the under fives it was heartening to see the adults enjoying the story too, including a couple of lady VW Campervan fans who'd made a special journey to see Milo and get their books signed...

Rachel Jane’s Bath based parents love VW Campervans – to the extent they have a business renting them out. Each has its own character and gets and adopted name, which sparked Rachel’s imagination. Stories began to emerge and - with encouragement from family and friends - a series has been born.

This was Beatons Tisbury’s first event for children, part of a raft of new offerings and events in its continual drive to ensure every person feels like a ‘Distinguished Guest’ whether they’re five or eighty-five!

Rachel's final appearance and storytelling session is at Beatons Crowthorne at 4 pm on Wednesday 29th August.

At Beatons, we celebrate all things British; the elegance, our heritage and our traditions. One tradition that have embraced to its fullest, is the Afternoon High Tea; from what from we serve, to our service.  If you're familiar with our menu you’ll be aware our Teas consist of delicious home-made cakes, warm scones with jam and clotted cream and a selection of freshly prepared finger sandwiches; but we believe you deserve more! As of now we're launching our brand-new Afternoon High Teas – The Ascot and The Windsor.

Steeping in elegance and luxuriousness, The Ascot truly captures the best of being British; with exclusive finely crafted cakes - including our signature carrot cake, our renowned scones and both finger and open sandwiches. It's presented purely on our black and white china, as a nod to Cecil Beaton and his glorious costumes and stage set for the race scene in My Fair Lady. From the moment you sit down we hope you'll be captivated by the grandeur and finesse of The Ascot. Including a pre-tea appetizer and an exclusive tea list, this High Tea was designed to not only please your taste buds but to provide you with a memorable experience; perfect for a special occasion.

''Very tempting and has a certain character... it's rather magnetic!'' Jenny, Beatons Tisbury

Due to the preparation involved in delivering The Ascot, it is available on a pre-booking basis. Please book by 4pm the day before; this way, we know you’ll be receiving the very best.

Alongside The Ascot is The Windsor, the classic Afternoon High Tea but with a Beatons twist.
